Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby

Residensstipendiater i Stockholm 2 september – 19 november 2022

Anthony Dunne och Fiona Raby är professorer iDesign and Social Inquiry och tillsammans leder de Designed Realities Lab på Parsons The New School of Design i New York. De är dessutom grundare av designstudion Dunne & Raby. Som stipendiater på Iaspis kommer de att arbeta på nya delar av det pågående projektet An Archive of Impossible Objects.

Anthony var professor på Royal College of Art i London och ledde programmet Design Interactions  2005 – 2015. Han har en examen i industridesign från National College of Art and Design i Dublin, en masterexamen i industridesign och en doktorsexamen i datorrelaterad design från Royal College of Art. Anthony tilldelades utmärkelsen Sir Misha Black Award for Innovation in Design Education 2009.

Fiona var professor i industridesign på Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien 2011 – 2015 och docent i interaktiv design på Royal College of Art, 2011 – 2015. Hon har en examen i arkitektur från Birmingham School of Architecture, en masterexamen i arkitektur och en masterexamen i datorrelaterad design från Royal College of Art.

Bland deras projekt märks Technological Dream Series, No 1; Robots, Designs for an Over-Populated Planet; Foragers, The United Micro Kingdoms (UMK) och The School of Constructed Realities. De har skrivit flera böcker, till exempel Hertzian Tales, Design Noir och Speculative Everything. Deras verk har ställts ut på MoMA i New York, Centre Georges-Pompidou i Paris och Design Museum i London och återfinns i många permanenta samlingar, bland annat på MoMA, Victoria and Albert Museum och MAK i Wien. 2015 var Dunne & Raby de första att tilldelas MIT Media Lab Award, och 2021 utnämndes Fiona och Anthony till Royal Designers for Industry av Royal Society of Arts.

Studio grant holders in Stockholm 2 September 2021 –  19 November 2022

Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby are University Professors of Design and Social Inquiry and co-directors of the Designed Realities Lab at Parsons/The New School in New York. They are also partners in the design studio Dunne & Raby. During their IASPIS residency they will work on new sections of their ongoing project, An Archive of Impossible Objects.

Anthony was professor and head of the Design Interactions programme at the Royal College of Art in London from 2005 – 2015. He received a B.Des in Industrial Design from the National College College of Art and Design in Dublin, an M.Des in Industrial Design and a Ph.D in Computer Related Design from the Royal College of Art. Anthony was awarded the Sir Misha Black Award for Innovation in Design Education in 2009.

Fiona was professor of Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna from 2011 – 2015 and Reader in Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art between 2011 and 2015. She received a B.A (hons) in Architecture from Birmingham School of Architecture, an MA in Architecture and an M.Phil in Computer Related Design from the Royal College of Art.

Their projects include Technological Dream Series, No 1; Robots, Designs For An Over Populated Planet; Foragers, The United Micro Kingdoms (UMK), and The School of Constructed Realities.
