Dr Léuli Eshrāghi (Brisbane/Montreal) will present on ongoing curatorial research into transoceanic knowledges, creativity and relationality, focusing attention on the online platform The Clam’s Kiss | Sogi a le faisua which they co-edit with Peta Rake at University of Queensland Art Museum, and a number of projects seeking to unsettle colonial ways of knowing and being in archipelagic and riverine contexts.

The event is jointly organized by IASPIS and L’Internationale.

Léuli Eshrāghi, born in Yuwi Country and active across Sāmoa, Australia and Canada of Sāmoan/Persian/Cantonese ancestry, works across forms of creativity. They intervene in display territories to prioritise global Indigenous and Asian diasporic visuality, sensual and spoken languages, and ceremonial-political practices. In 2022, Eshrāghi presented new work at the Tate Modern (London), the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane), Jameel Arts Centre (Dubai), the Centre d’exposition de l’Université de Montréal, and the Cité internationale des arts (Paris). They are Curatorial Researcher in Residence at University of Queensland Art Museum (Brisbane), and Curator of TarraWarra Biennial 2023: ua usiusi faʻavaʻasavili at TarraWarra Museum of Art (Healesville).
