Since 2020, her work has focused on food as a field of critical research and cultural production. Under the name Madame Cadec, she has developed an extensive research practice around the culinary legacy of Patience Gray. In 2026, she authored the first Italian translation of Honey from a Weed, accompanied by public programs and food experiences inspired by the book.

Alongside this work, she researches bread and grains as cultural and political tools. She is part of the community of Grano Alto and serves on the scientific and organizational committee of the Forni & Fornai•e festival, exploring how wheat and bread can contribute to rethinking industrial food systems. She shares this research through lectures, workshops, and educational programs, including the Difficult Heritage Summer School in Borgo Rizza, Sicily.

Since 2008, Sara has collaborated with DAAR – Decolonizing Architecture Art & Research on research projects, residencies, and exhibitions across Europe, including Entity of Decolonization – Borgo Rizza, presented at the 18th Venice Biennale and awarded the Golden Lion for Best Participant in 2023.
