The Swedish Arts Grants Committees International programme for theater shall contribute to artistic development and improved work opportunities for professional artists in the theater field. The programme should work to increase and deepen artists’ international contacts and work opportunities for Swedish based artists.

In 2022, the Swedish Arts Grants Committe was tasked with developing an international programme for the theater field. It is aimed at professional artists  with artistic activity such as actor, director, mime, musical artist, performance artist, clown, set designer, lighting designer, mask designer, costume designer, sound designer, puppeteer or dramaturg.

Development of the International programme for theater will continue with new international and national residencies and work stays in, for example, Paris, Berlin, and Malmö.
