Giuditta Vendrame
Grantholder in Stockholm 10 Mars – 29 May 2022
Giuditta Vendrame is an Italian designer, artist and researcher based in the Netherlands. Her practice explores the intersections between design, art and legal systems with a focus on personhood, space, and mobility. She combines research on the circulation of bodies in public space with performative moments and symbolic gestures. Through investigations into citizenship and its paradoxes she finds ways to open political spaces through playful and poetic interventions. For several years, she has been looking at interconnected bodies of water to challenge modern conceptions of nationhood, territory, and borderlands.
Giuditta Vendrame’s work has been exhibited and presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Walker Art Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven, RMIT Gallery Melbourne, OCAT Shenzhen and others.
