IASPIS at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia – collaborations, artistic practices, and new connections

A shared imprint in Venice, thanks to our partners! IASPIS participated in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia with a reception and several international networking meetings.

At this year’s La Biennale di Venezia, Sweden-based artists and curators were highlighted. Art professionals from across Europe gathered with partners for conversations, exchange of experiences, and new connections focused on future collaborations. IASPIS participated with a reception and several international networking events.

The reception highlighted Sweden-based artists Ayan Farah, Carsten Höller, and Klara Kristalova, all of whom are participating in the biennial and are supported by IASPIS.

The 61st International Art Exhibition of Venice Biennale, In Minor Keys, is curated by Koyo Kouoh and runs from May 9 to November 22, 2026, in the Giardini, Arsenale, and other venues across Venice.

Ayan Farah is participating in Somalia’s first national pavilion at the Venice Biennale, while Carsten Höller is featured in the main exhibition In Minor Keys.

Klara Kristalova is part of the Nordic Pavilion with the exhibition How Many Angels Can Dance on the Head of a Pin?, together with Benjamin Orlow and Tori Wrånes, who was an IASPIS Artist in Residence in Stockholm in 2018. The exhibition is curated by Anna Mustonen.

IASPIS also co-organised two breakfasts together with its sister organisations Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, Flanders Arts Institute, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, OCA – Office for Contemporary Art Norway, Phileas, Pro Helvetia, Swiss Arts Council & Swiss Art Awards, the Federal Office of Culture, and SAHA, for curators and art professionals from the Nordic countries and the rest of Europe. The breakfasts created opportunities for dialogue, exchange of experiences, and new international connections, with a focus on future collaborations.
