IASPIS expert visit in Stockholm and Malmö 8–17 April 2024

Keisuke Ozawa was born in 1971 and lives in Tokyo. He is an independent curator and currently the representative of the ‘art to’ association, launched by himself in 2016, where he organises an independent art school as well as art exhibitions.

He is also the director of the ARCUS Project – an established artist in residence programme in Ibaraki Prefecture – and a part time lecturer at Hosei University. He is a co-founder of the non-profit organisation Arts Initiative Tokyo, for which he worked from 2001 to 2016.

He has engaged in organising many art exhibitions, such as Fujinoyama Biennale (various venues in Fuji City and Shizuoka City, 2016/2018), Ropongi Crossing 2016: My Body, Your Voice (Mori Art Museum, 2016), Big Sky Friendship (Towada Art Center, 2014) and Towada Oirase Art Festival SURVIVE – Time Hoppers on the Earth (Towada Art Center and other venues, 2013), and artist in residence programmes to introduce promising artists and critical theory to Japan and beyond.
