Eugene Sundelius von Rosen
Guest accommodation in Paris, Swedish Institute, 2–29 November 2026
Eugene Sundelius von Rosen (born 1991), is an artist and poet based in Stockholm. His interdisciplinary practice consists of, but is not limited to, situations, text, performance, audio and image-making. His work lingers on the threshold of fiction – engaging with themes such as atmosphere, affect and place in relation to an æstethic-poetic being-in-the-world. Architecture, environments and places —whether reproduced, actual or alluded to— often occur in his works as image, stage or scenery.

During his stay in Paris, Eugene intends to further develop a work consisting of film material, freely interpreted from Gertrude Stein’s play “A List”. Filmed at locations in Paris connected to Stein´s life, the work draws on her ideas of the play as landscape. Eugene will also work with the relationship between his own writing and ways of seeing.
Sundelius von Rosen is educated at the Royal Institute of Art and the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (SKH). His work has been shown and performed at Index (Stockholm), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (Copenhagen), Podium (Oslo), Billytown (Den Haag), Kohta (Helsinki), Issues (Stockholm), Marabouparken (Stockholm), among others. His latest book of poetry “Med aura tidigare i livet” was published in 2024.
