Sara Andreasson

Guest accommodation in Paris, Swedish Institute, 3 December– 30 December 2025

Sara Andreasson was born outside Gothenburg and is currently based in Malmö. She studied Fine Art at HDK-Valand and later at Malmö Art Academy, where she earned her MFA in 2023. Andreasson has exhibited works at Jedna Dva Tři Gallery in Prague, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, and Göteborgs Konstförening, among others.

In my work, I explore the inherent qualities of both two- and three-dimensional materiality and the world that surrounds them, aiming to highlight unexpected connections that encourage an alternative perspective on the world. I am often guided by sensory impressions drawn from landscape, movement, and time.

During my stay in Paris, I will work from two locations that manifest time. One is the Paris Observatory, where vibrations from a cesium atom are measured to define the exact length of one second. The other is an artificial mountain in Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, which fails in its attempt to imitate eternity, as it is now cordoned off due to renovations—the concrete mixture has not withstood weather and erosion.
