Conny Karlsson Lundgren

Guest accommodation in Paris, Swedish Institute, 3 November – 30 Novermber 2025

With the help of film, text, image, installation and performance, my work traverses the boundaries between social, political, and private identities. Turning to interdisciplinary methods, countercultures and social agreements are reimagined through experiences, desires, and secret codes. Ephemeral, accidental traces and moments that challenge the grand narratives are a recurring fascination.

During my stay at the Swedish Institute, I will be following the traces and residues of one of my earlier projects, which focused on a queer summer camp in the French countryside in the 1970s. Recently, I learned that some of the participants travelled on to Paris, where their political engagement and activism continued in other forms.
