- Working and living in Sweden
If you are a professional artist visiting Sweden temporarily for a cultural exchange, a residency programme or to attend a conference, you might need to apply for a visa. If you are receiving remuneration or fees, you need to apply for a coordination number.
Exemptions to work permit regulations
If you are going to work in Sweden as an artist, you need a special work permit. If your assignment is extended, you will also need to extend your work permit. This can place new demands on you as an applicant and result in additional costs. The Swedish Migration Agency lists organisers who are entitled to a work permit exemption for their performers.
Certain assignments and occupational groups may be exempt from the work permit regulations. For example, the Migration Agency mentions those who have assignments of up to one month in television and radio (SR, SVT, UR and Nordisk Television AB).
