Self organised research visits

Application for self organised research visits

International curators within visual and applied art may apply for funding to carry out curatorial research in Sweden. This possibility is primarily aimed at applicants who already are in contact with the  Swedish art scene and plan to develop a project involving artists based in Sweden. Applicants must be able to organise meetings, studiovisits and travel logistics on their own.

Applications can be submitted continiously, and applicants can expect to receive a reply within six to eight weeks.

The Iaspis programme wishes to promote visual and applied artists abroad by facilitating visits by curators to meet with the art scene and artists in Sweden, aiming at future collaborations with artists.

In assessing, the following criteria supports the application: The visit must include a number of meetings with artists and other professionals. A visit should preferably be linked to a specific project. The visit and the planned project should promote networks and collaborations between the international art scene and artists based in Sweden.

Applicants can apply for minimum 5000 SEK and maximum 15000 SEK. Iaspis reserves the right not to award the full amount requested. The duration of a research visit should be between 3-7 days, although it may be longer if it includes several cities.

If you are accepted as a visiting expert, an agreement must be signed between you and the agency. On basis of the agreement the payment will be done as soon as possible. A report that gives account for the visit, expenses and specific meetings must be submitted not later than two months after the visit.
