Therese Kelly

Studio Grant holder in Stockholm 4 June - 29 July 2018

Therese Kelly
is an architect, landscape urbanist, and social practice artist committed to creating a vibrant public realm. Working at the intersection of landscape, urban design, and art her innovative outreach tools invite civic engagement and dialogue. Through maps that reveal hidden infrastructures, resources, and public spaces, her work empowers social and environmental resilience. Her current explorations seek to cultivate a personal relationship with water—its abundance, scarcity, and everyday encounters. She is also co-founder of the Los Angeles Urban Rangers, an interdisciplinary group that offers urban hikes, field exercises, and critical cartography to promote exploration and discovery of everyday urban landscapes.
Therese studied architecture at Princeton University and the University of California, Los Angeles. Published and exhibited widely, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, and the Rotterdam Architecture Biennale, her work is currently on view in the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum’s, “By the People: Designing a Better America.”
