Dobrila Denegri

Dobrila Denegri is an art historian and curator, born in Belgrade (Serbia) and living and working in Rome (Italy). Since 2002 she is artistic director of nKA / ICA (Belgrade), an independent cultural association, which, from 2001 to 2010, organised “Real Presence”, a major international platform dedicated to emerging artists (http://www.ica-realpresence.org/). From 2002 to 2008 she was curator at MACRO – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome. From 2007 to 2009 she lectured on relations between art and fashion at the La Sapienza University in Rome and since 2011 she lectures on the same subject at Polimoda in Florence (www.polimoda.com). In the period between 2010 and 2015 she was artistic director of the Centre of Contemporary Art in Torun, Poland. Her activity as a curator and writer began in the 1990s. She has curated numerous group and solo exhibitions, including: Marina Abramović, Thomas Bayrle, Michal Rovner, Alfredo Jaar, Gustav Metzger, Ernesto Neto, Tomás Saraceno, in addition to workshops, panels and lectures for international public and private institutions.
