Pierre Courtin

Expert visit in Stockholm 20 - 27 March 2017
Born in France on November 14th 1976. Living and working in Sarajevo

Pierre Courtin, an untypical character of an artistic protean commitment, defines himself as somebody acting on the stage of Art. He invests this stage, he acts on it, he seduces its codes. He constantly performs. He questions all the models, behaviours, structures of the various roles he embodies. Artist, art gallery manager, curator, collector but also iconoclast and do-it-yourselfer. A desire for anarchy as well as irony in an artistic and eminently political way: the protection of the contemporary arts as ideal places of freedom, experiments, confrontation, encounters, places where borders are broken.

Founder and art director of the gallery DUPLEX100m2 in Sarajevo
President of the DADADA organisation in Paris
