The Stockholm Collection

Date: 15 June 2017.
Time: 4:30 pm.
Place: Izzy Young's Folklore Centrum.
Address: Wollmar Yxkullsgatan 2, 118 50 Stockholm, Sweden.

The Stockholm Collection is an introduction of 28 November, a new bookshop, self-organized library, and reading room located in Tirana, Albania by Leah Whitman-Salkin and Simon Battisti.

28 November purveys texts (new, used, re-editioned) that relate to independence,
anarchy, spaces of exception, desire, withdrawal, noncompliance, selfmanagement, forms of identification, love. Bring a text to the event in the form of a bound volume, which we ask that you leave with us at the end of the evening as a donation. You will be invited to read a passage from your contribution aloud. The total contributions of texts from this event will become 28 November’s inaugural collection: The Stockholm Collection.

Until the 15th,
Leah Whitman-Salkin
Simon Battisti

Leah Whitman-Salkin (editor, curator USA/ALB) and Simon Battisti (architect, curator USA/ALB) are current studio grant holders at the Iaspis residency in Stockholm, May–July 2017. Together with Åbäke they were the curators of “I Have Left You the Mountain,” the Albanian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2016, which used singing to articulate ways in which patterns of departure have affected Albanian cities and towns for the past five centuries.
