The Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s existing grants with an international orientation, such as international cultural exchange, travel grants, and the danceWEB grant, are included in the International Dance Programme, started in 2009. The programme is geared towards professionally active individual artists, as are the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s other activities. The programme is developing new forms of support and a dynamic structure for different kinds of exchanges, similar to the programme of Iaspis (the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s international programme for practitioners in the areas of visual art and design).
Swedish choreographers and dancers has the opportunity to spend longer periods working abroad and participating in informal contexts and networks, etc. Together with local partners in Malmoe and Gothenburg we invite international artists to residencies. In addition, the International Dance Programme collaborates with organisations to produce seminars and workshops, and to disseminate information about Swedish dance. We organise visits, invite programmers from festivals and guest performance venues in other countries, and actively represent Swedish dance abroad.
