The Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s existing grants with an international orientation, such as international cultural exchange, travel grants, and the danceWEB grant, are now included in the newly started International Dance Programme. The programme is geared towards professionally active individual artists, as are the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s other activities. Based on this we are developing new forms of support and a dynamic structure for different kinds of exchanges, similar to the programme of Iaspis (the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s international programme for practitioners in the areas of visual art and design).
Swedish choreographers and dancers will now be provided with the opportunity to spend longer periods working abroad and participating in informal contexts and networks, etc. On the agenda is also to invite international dance artists for residencies in Sweden.
In addition, the International Dance Programme will collaborate with organisations to produce seminars and workshops, and to disseminate information about Swedish dance. We will organise visits, invite programmers from festivals and guest performance venues in other countries, and actively represent Swedish dance abroad.
